at Birthday Party in Riverbank, California

Fern's daughter Goldie & son-in-law Ken Ferguson, along with daughter Susan & son-in-law Mac Graham, hosted a party on Sunday, September 6, 2009 at the Ferguson home, for their mother - Fern (Brenton) Guthrie, celebrating Fern's 85th birthday. Fern was a long-time Villisca & Nodaway resident, who now currently resides in Oakdale, California. A luncheon & cake was served.

Attendees included: Fern's niece - Corning resident Betty (Scott) Russell; nephew - former Villisca & Corning residents Lee Scott and his wife Carolyn (Waage) Scott, who live in Milpitas, CA; great nephew & great niece - former Villisca residents Duane Mitchell & Nancy Mitchell, who reside in Portland, OR; niece - Loretta Brenton from Los Gatos, CA.; daughter & son-in-law Goldie & Ken Ferguson; their daughter Stephanie & husband Tony Caetano & 3 children Hannah, Zachary & Kenny Caetano, all Riverbank, CA residents; daughter & son-in-law Susan & Mac Graham; their daughter Trudi Graham Vierra & son-in-law Manuel Vierra & their daughter Chloe Vierra & son Thomas Vierra, all of Oakdale, CA.; daughter Cindi Graham of Hughson, CA. & her 3 sons, Dusty Smith, Oakdale, CA, Blake Bakewell & Robbie Bakewell of Hughson, CA.; Grandson Brian Johnson & wife Shirley, their daughter Danielle Johnson, son Brandon Johnson, all of Gilroy, CA.; Grandson Brenton & wife Elsy Johnson, son Brenton Johnson II, all of Hollister, CA; Grandson Brice & wife Denyse Johnson of Boulder Creek, CA. Mary Ann Hendrickson Dunkin

celebrates her 80th

Mary Ann Hendrickson was born 14 July 1929 on the Hendrickson family farm north of Nodaway to Marion Hendrickson and Grace Groff. She wanted to make my appearance during a bad Iowa thunder storm - her Mother was so afraid of storms that she was in the storm cave - the storm subsided - so she was not born in the cave! She attended the Nodaway Consolidated School for 12 years - graduating with the class of 1947. She taught country school at Baker Cut and Hepburn before her marriage to Benny Dunkin on 26 June 1949. She was an Air Force wife for 23 years - traveling far and wide with my husband. She and Ben are the proud parents of three daughters - Ronda, Denese and Lisa. Ben and Mary Ann have lived in Fort Collins, Colorado since his retirement in August of 1972. She is happiest working on her hobby of genealogy and loves to travel.
